The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a prestigious voluntary organization committed to shaping young individuals into disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens. At the school level, cadets undergo a two-year training programme leading to the ‘A’ Certificate, which includes basic military training, parade drills, and personality development activities.
This year, the Annual Training Camp–142 was organized under the supervision of the 5 HAR Battalion NCC, Gurugram, at Matree International School, Bhora Kalan. Held from 2nd June to 11th June 2025, the camp saw the enthusiastic participation of approximately 525 cadets from various schools, including 27 cadets from Salwan Public School, Gurugram

Camp Highlights
• The camp commenced with an inspiring address by Col. Samir Kumar Kaushik, the Camp Commanding Officer. His motivational words energized all cadets and set a positive tone for the days ahead.
• Daily activities began at 6:00 a.m. with PT and Yoga, followed by breakfast and uniform preparation. Cadets assembled in the lecture hall by 8:00 a.m. in full NCC uniform for a series of educational and skill-enhancing sessions.
• One of the most thrilling experiences was Weapon Training, where cadets handled rifles and participated in live firing practice—a first-time experience for all.
• A major highlight of the camp was an interactive session with NSG Commandos, which inspired and motivated cadets immensely.

Cadets received training and attended sessions by PI staff and guest lecturers on a wide array of topics, including:

• Section Formation
• Career Opportunities in the Armed Forces
• National Security Threats
• Ambush Lecture & Demonstration
• Firing Control Orders
• Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs)
• Youth’s Role in Nation Building
• Armed Forces Rank Structure
• Firefighting and First Aid
• CPR Demonstration and Training
• Cyber Security Awareness
• “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” Campaign
• Special Guest Lecture on World Oceans Day etc.
These informative sessions were vital in developing leadership, civic sense, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility among the cadets.

Special Observances
• On 5th June, cadets and staff celebrated World Environment Day, spreading awareness on environmental sustainability through activities and pledges and tree plantation.
• On 8th June, a special guest lecture was conducted, enriching the cadets with new perspectives on global and national concerns on World Ocean Day.

Competitions and Achievements
Various competitions were held during the camp to foster a spirit of healthy competition and physical excellence. Our cadets participated in and won accolades in several categories:

Their outstanding performance brought pride to Salwan Public School.

Cultural Extravaganza
The camp concluded with a vibrant cultural evening. Cadets showcased their talent in music, dance, and drama. Our cadets participated with zeal and received medals and certificates.
