Remembering the Mahatma: A Tribute to Truth and Peace
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Montessori students of Salwan Public School, Gurugram, on September 30, 2025 (Tuesday). The celebration aimed to instill Gandhiji’s values of cleanliness, simplicity, and truthfulness among young learners.
The day began with a cleanliness drive, where children enthusiastically cleaned their classrooms and the school premises under the guidance of their teachers, reinforcing Gandhiji’s vision of a Swachh Bharat.
Creative art and craft activities added to the joy of the day. Montessori I students made monkey puppets symbolizing “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” Montessori II students designed charkhas using popsicle sticks and wool to represent Gandhiji’s ideals of self-reliance, while Montessori III students crafted spectacles from rolled newspapers, depicting his vision of truth and clarity.
The celebration not only made learning enjoyable but also helped children meaningfully connect with the teachings of the Father of the Nation. It concluded with cheerful faces and a collective pledge to follow the path of truth, simplicity, and cleanliness.
