Salwan Public School, Gurugram celebrated Family Day with great enthusiasm and warmth at the E-Block Foyer Area, reinforcing the values of unity, belongingness and togetherness among the entire school community. The celebration commenced with a serene prayer followed by the chanting of Gita Shlokas by the students of Class IX, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Shilpi Waie, Coordinator – Junior Wing, highlighted that the true essence of family lies in a strong sense of belongingness.
The programme featured a melodious group song by students of Grades III to V and a heartfelt self-composed poem by Sumedha Saxena of Grade XII-A, beautifully reflecting the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family. Students of Grades VI to VIII further presented an engaging Nukkad Natak based on the new school logo and the guiding principles of “Education for All” and “Service Before Self.”
The event was enriched by inspiring addresses from the coordinators of various wings, who encouraged students to value relationships, unity, discipline, mutual respect and lifelong connections. A vibrant dance performance added colour and energy to the celebration. A special appreciation was extended to the Road Safety Team under the guidance of Dr. Savita Upadhyay and Ms. Ruchi Puri for their dedicated efforts in ensuring smooth traffic management outside the school premises. One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was the symbolic Human Chain, where teachers, administrative staff, student council members and MTS staff formed a protective circle around the students during the school song, beautifully representing unity, care and collective strength. The celebration concluded on a heartwarming note with ice cream distribution, leaving everyone with a deep sense of pride, love and togetherness as members of the Salwan family.
