STEAM Lab Activities – Fostering Innovation and Creativity

Salwan Public School, Gurugram successfully organised the STEAM Summer Camp 2026 during the month of June 2026, providing students with enriching hands-on learning experiences in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Conducted from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., the camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 21 students who explored emerging technologies through project-based and experiential learning.
The camp commenced with LEGO Robotics, where students designed and assembled a Humanoid Robot and a Car Model using LEGO kits. Through these activities, they gained an understanding of basic engineering principles, design thinking, and robotics concepts. In the second phase, students worked on an RC Car Project, building and controlling a remote-controlled car through a mobile application using Arduino and Bluetooth communication. This activity introduced them to wireless control systems, motors, and basic programming concepts.
The third phase focused on Smart Home Automation, where students developed automation projects using Arduino boards, sensors, and relay modules. They learned about automation logic, sensor interfacing, and practical applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). The final phase introduced students to Drone Technology, familiarising them with drone components, flight controls, safety measures, and practical demonstrations that enhanced their understanding of modern aerial technologies.
Throughout the camp, students worked with a variety of technological components, including Arduino Uno, Bluetooth Modules, Motor Drivers, DC Motors, Relay Modules, Sensors, LEDs, Breadboards, Jumper Wires, LEGO Kits, and Drones. These activities helped them develop essential skills such as coding, Arduino programming, robotics, electronics, automation, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and innovation. The STEAM Summer Camp proved to be a highly engaging and enriching experience, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and technological awareness among students. By combining creativity with practical application, the programme empowered young learners to explore emerging technologies with confidence and develop future-ready skills essential for the rapidly evolving world
