Session on HPV Vaccination by the School Doctor

An orientation session on HPV Vaccination was conducted on 16 May 2026 at Salwan Public School, Gurugram by the School Doctor for the mothers of girl students of Grades IX and X in the age group of 14–15 years.

During the session, the School Doctor sensitised the parents about Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Cervical Cancer, the importance of HPV Vaccination, vaccination strategy and key messages for caregivers. The mothers were informed in detail about the benefits, effectiveness and safety of the HPV Vaccine and its role in preventing various types of cancers.

Parents were also informed that the HPV Vaccine is available free of cost at Government Hospitals, PHCs, UPHCs and CHCs after registration on the U-WIN Portal. All mothers were encouraged to ensure timely vaccination of their daughters as a preventive healthcare measure. Officiating Principal Dr. Sunita Jakhar also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of spreading awareness regarding HPV Vaccination in the present scenario. She appreciated the mothers for their active participation and for prioritising the health and well-being of their daughters.
